Having grown up in Michigan my entire life, I could not resist creating a piece that paid homage to the state. The idea of this piece was to present an arrangement of various key cities from the state in an iconic and clean way. I enjoy the challenge of having to simplify a large concept into a simpler, basic form. This approach causes one to consider what elements are most important and integral to the design.
The simplification of the features and landmarks not only creates a unifying and visually appealing look, but also emphasizes the diversity of the state.
