Having always been captivated by the simple, yet evocative style of Japanese anime, I decided to create a poster series that paid homage to different films directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
Visually, my approach to these posters was to mimic the flat, bright style of the films in a simple, yet striking arrangement. Regarding the composition of the posters, I made sure the major plot devices of the films were emphasized. The trick was making sure these focal points were true and accurate to the films, but ambiguous enough, so as to not spoil any major events in the plot.
